Our Three Non-Profit Finalists

  • North Fulton Charities

North Fulton Community Charities (NFCC) is a leader in North Fulton offering assistance to over 5,000 families annually. Food was distributed over 20,000 times, over 2,000 families utilized clothing vouchers, and $1.3 million dollars was expended for direct aid to their clients in need of financial assistance. Their Education Center offers an array of classes and opportunities to help residents move toward financial stability and self sufficiency. Although the demand for these services has increased significantly since its founding, NFCC continues to help hands-on, one family at a time.

  • Childhood Development Academy (CDA)

The Children’s Development Academy enjoys a rich history of broad support, built over the past five decades. Focused on low-income working families in our community, we serve up to 200 children each year ages 12 months through 5 years in our full-day early care and learning program, including three Georgia Pre-K classes. We are NAEYC-accredited (National Association for the Education of Young Children), the highest level of accreditation available to any education program, with a curriculum committed to preparing children to be “ready by five” for school success.

  • The Drake House

The Drake House started in 2004 as a Leadership North Fulton class project to address the growing number of single women and their children experiencing homelessness in the area. Community leaders gathered donations and volunteers from business and civic leaders, faith-based organizations, Fulton County, the City of Roswell, and the United Way of Greater Atlanta to create a non-profit that could address the need. Our doors opened in June 2006 under the name The Drake House in honor of Roswell native Mary Drake. Mary Drake was a founder of North Fulton Community Charities and advocated for those in need.
